A- there are Markets in Koycegiz , Marmaris , Ortaca , Fethiye.
All markets are same. Same sales people moving around. However ,Fethiye market which takes place on Tuesdays seems the biggest one . Please refer to Transportation page ,If you still don't understand how to get there just send me an e-mail and I will be more then happy to tell you.

Other Market days |
| Monday | in Köycegiz refer to transportation page |
| Tuesday | in Fethiye you can go on excursion combined with market |
| Wednesday | in Dalaman refer to transportation page |
| Friday | in Ortaca refer to transportation page |
| Saturday | in Dalyan refer to transportation page |
Please Note : Sarigerme Market is a purpose build (touristic) market.
In my oppinion is a Rip Off.
Market of Sarigerme is not cheaper then the shops in the Village also shops in the Village are Hassle free zone.
Stall owners in Sunday market can be pushy, annoying and rude most of times. Stall owners in sarigerme market are not originally from sarigerme village , they come from different areas of the region.
If you decide to go, you will notice that no local person shops in that market, because it is a purpose build (touristic) market.
I Recommend a DIY Market Trip : it is very easy.
Example below is for Friday Market in Ortaca (on fridays)
:
Get a Dolmush (see transportation page) what ever time you wish to go.
Journey takes about 30 minutes
get off at the last stop which is the bus station of Ortaca.
Market place is next to the Bus Stop.
Visit the Market and shops in the Town ..
When you feel like you need to go back to your Hotel go to Bus station ,get the dolmush back to sarigerme.
Dolmushes (shuttle buses) from sarigerme to Ortaca operating from 8am till 8pm
Please be aware that in Markets ,Pocket Lifters may operate !!
Make sure you do secure your belongings .

I understand from the e-mails I receive , that some sales people in the Market of Sarigerme are trying to be pushy to the foreign tourist in order to sell them stuff.
My advice to you all is ;
ENJOY IT ..Try to get fun out of it , in the end of the day ,it is up to you where and how you want to spend your money .
Here are some answers to give to the Pushy Sales Persons in the Market;
Say : No Thank you
Say : Tomorrow Morning
Say : Next week
Say : Too Late , bought yesterday
Say : No money left
Say : After dinner

If you ever feel you are harrast or threatened YOU MUST COMPLAIN TO GENDARME (JANDARMA) imedeatly , ask any local (remember market stall owners in sarigerme are not locals) where the Gendarme Office is, they will show you the way or call for you.
Don't worry you will be save :))
Shops in Hotels are nothing but Rip-OFF , the T-Shirts and Sun Glasses ect. they are selling is no better quality then the stuff you can buy in the Markets.Especialy Juwellery is very expensive .So, if you see a T-Shirt or a Sun Glasses -Sun Cream or anything , you can buy it half the price at the Local Shops in Sarigerme Village ,Ortaca or Dalaman ect.
Convenient shops are available in Sarigerme
where you can buy your e.g cigarettes ,suncreams...
I recommend the LAZ MARKET next to sarigerme bar.

Thank you for the Information. |
