A truly stunning place to stay whether for a holiday or to live, this small Sarigerme Village does already have quite a strong British and European community in place.

This small Village Sarigerme (Osmaniye) becomes quite lively during the summer months as it has 7 major hotels attracting holiday makers from Europe. And there are more Hotels to come.There is a main street which has boutiques, restaurants and bars but the main attraction has to be the very attractive sandy beach which hosts water sports, sunbeds and has a shady wooded picnic area, as well as a cafeteria.
The name Sarigerme is linked to the Sariçay Stream that divides Osmaniye and the coast. The Sariçay was once used as the transportation route for timber that was brought from the forest to the sea. To prevent the timber from escaping into the sea the stream's outlet into the ocean was closed during times of timber transportation. Thus the name ‘Germe', which means tightening or fencing. Sarigerme, with its seven kilometres of coastline, shallow sea and the island of Baba not too far in the distance, is truly a perfect holiday haven and place to live. Services such as food and drink outlets, showers, toilets, beach chairs, umbrellas and dressing cabins, as well as a dinghy service across the water to Osmaniye, are all available. Therefore, all services required by the luxury hotels being supplied by the village of Osmaniye are also being supplied to the small motels and pensions as well.
Osmaniye Village (remember -Sarigerme is the name of the beach not the Village) It is very quite during day time as most Tourist are having fun around the pool or, are away on Excursions like Daily Boat trips or Jeep Safari..

For The Public Beach there is a small charge at the entrance, which goes towards the upkeep and services for the beach.(this section is has nothing to do with the first choice Hotels nor the Hilton Hotel beach )
The BABA ISLAND (see left) , situated right off the coast, is the place where boats and yachts plying between Marmaris and Göcek moor regularly. The sheltered side of the island, which looks directly at Sarigerme, is used to moor the boats and yachts. The other face of the island is rocky and most suitable for diving. If you are confident it is possible to swim to the island and later climb to the top and have a bird's eye view of the beautiful scenery surrounding you. One can also take long walks along the coast.
There are some other Islands nearby Sarigerme (ideal for Scuba Diving) such as ;
KAMIL ISLAND
This is an island of 200-300 meters length situated at the entrance of Aşı inlet abot 3 miles out of Sarıgerme. There is a sandy bottom in the east and some grassy regions. The broken pieces of clay pitchers and amphoras can be seen scattered in the area. The wall parallel to the eastern section of the island is at a distance of 50 meters and has a depth of 35 meters ending on the sand. You can see groupers and striped groupers at this section as well as many broken pieces of amphoras among the rocks and sand. There are the triangular bodied Red sea fish in the eastern section of the island that live in a small cove which can only be seen in this part of the region. The colourful shrimps at the different diving points of the island present a nice image to photograph.
NAR ISLAND
It is an island of 100-200 meters length situated 10 miles southeast of Sarıgerme. It is least effected by the ulluvions of the Dalaman stream and Sarısu stream because it is far away from the mainland. The visibility under the water is horizontally about 30-40 meters. A plateau in the southeast direction streches for 300 meters starting at a depth of 5-6 meters and continuing until 15-16 meters. There is a steep wall in the south section where the plateau ends while in the north there is a moderate deepening incline. This island which is abundant in fish and other living forms is a beautiful wall dive in a region known for its caves.
