What's happening in Sarigerme this February??
Well in the village not a great deal really so far, the biggest news is Club X line has been knocked down, I couldn’t believe it just driving by and all the top half of the club is missing so whether they’re rebuilding something else or not we shall seen. It’s been really quiet this winter with all restaurants and bars closed the last few years there has always one or two open.
They are doing a lot of work on the new golf hotel and golf course. They do still aim to have the golf hotel open ready for this season but I’m not sure that the golf course will be, maybe next year. So for a couple of thousand pounds (that I’m hearing as a rough estimate) you can have a week there.
On a serious note though residents of Akdeniz Evleri are seriously worried after receiving letters about an upcoming meeting in March. Apparently it seems in 1991 the council inspected them and they were told that with 148 houses they had been built too high and too close together, in 1993 after building another 40 they were told again that they didn’t meet the specifications. Now suddenly the council has said action must be taken, so what will happen, will they only demolish the empty houses or will people lose their holiday homes or even their only homes as several people live here all year round. If they have been built too high what can possibly be done about that??
The weather is absolutely horrible at the minute, we thought all that horrible rain had disappeared where it belonged- you know anywhere but here but now for the last two days it’s just been nonstop anywhere between that grey horrible drizzly stuff and proper pouring it down with thunderstorms, but at least it’s not so bad we need to be worrying about floods again (so far).
For those of you who don’t know the new roads through the mountain is fully finished and you can now drive or walk (in my case) that way is better as you don’t have to fight with all the trucks for the golf course but it is quite steep, its shorter in distance but takes maybes another five minutes or so to walk from Akdeniz down into the village but unnoticeable in a car.
