MARCH NEWSLETTER
Well it’s March already and it’s that time of year when there’s loads happening but nothing happening.
X line club has all vanished without a trace but I’ve been doing some asking around, apparently they are going to build a hotel there. I reckon in 10years time this place will look unrecognizable to how it is now, I don’t mind as long as it still looks beautiful.
The road from the village up to Akdeniz changed in a day, we went out yesterday over all the sandy lumps and soft bits bouncing up and down and when we came back a few hours later, it had all been smoothed out, level, firm and even in the dark you could tell the difference so that’s good. Perhaps they are getting more prepared, I have been told that they are going to lay asphalt on the new road but not tarmac as it is greenbelt area.
Every time I go past the developments being made on the new Hilton seem more and more visible. There’s been paint work done on the outside, loads of the land surrounding it has changed and looks more and more like a golf course could actually appear one day, however I do believe the hotel will be open for June, but I think we will have to wait a bit longer for the golf course.
Life is starting to appear in the village, there are people!!!
Shops are open, not many but a couple more than last month and even the Carmen/LA Pizza is open so we had the treat of a pizza last night, ooh I’ve missed the pizza and the lads in there. A lot of the time they all swap round or disappear, but I was glad to see one lad Yilmaz was back he’s great.
The Sarigerme looks like it might be set to open soon, as I saw Unal the manager about the village and tables and chairs have appeared all of a sudden so we could have 2 bars open soon.
Unfortunately I have also heard that there will be a couple of shops (unfortunately it seems most of them are the ones that have been there the longest) will be going soon as well as they do not have Tapu’s (title deeds) which is also to do with the fact that Sarigerme is now a designated tourist spot, the laws are changing and governments are clamping down big time.
Anyways this time next month, I reckon nearly everything will be open so we shall have loads of more news then so until next time…………….
