GOCEK TOWN NEAR DALAMAN

Gocek is about Half an Hour away from Sarigerme Village.

The resort at the end of the Gulf of Gocek, named after the gulf itself, has become a very popular tourism destination in recent years.

There are three separate yachting marinas in Gocek. Around the marina in the centre there are hotels, pensions, restaurants and shops. A bit further up there is the new Gocek Yachting Marina. Right next to it there is the Swissotel.

There are daily boat trips from the central marina to the coves on the gulf and the islands. You can enjoy the sea in peaceful and abandoned coves.

Those who do not take a boat trip can get to the coves via the stabilised road along the Gulf of Gocek. However, you might not get the same pleasure out of the trip as you might from being on a boat.

Gocek has long been a desirable destination for both Turkish and foreign yachtsmen, as well as a favorite stopover for jet-setters and celebrities alike.

This paradisical village of two-thousand inhabitants is only 20 minutes by car from Dalaman International Airport , which can be reached in under 1 hour from Istanbul.

It is not just world-class yachting that makes Gocek a special place, it is the way the culture and natural surroundings blend in such a serene way.

Strict development laws ensure that this very unique setting is protected; and since there is no oversupply of hotels, it is never crowded; majority of visitors are usually sophisticated travellers like yourself.

Every year around the 19th of May an important Regatta Week is organised at Port Gocek, with the cooperation of the Gocek Yacht Club, and the Turkish Offshore Racing Club.

The quality of the organisation, the magnificiency of the parties and the natural beauty of the area made this unique event very popular among seamen and racers. This regatta became a prestigious event that keeps on attracting every year more and more competitors from all over the world.
